I had the great pleasure last year, out for an evening’s stroll around Davis Square, to run quite accidentally into the HONK! Festival. This was not your standard high school marching band fare. First it was a wild avant-garde cacophony of horns blaring from a street corner with a big crowd gathered around. Then a Klezmer-esque outfit further on down the road. And if that weren’t enough, a colorful, totally wacked-out parade squawked by. Nothing says “party” quite like the HONK! Festival.

The theme for this year’s parade is “SHARE,” sharing the road, sharing our skills, our resources, our upbeat HONK! spirit. The parade will feature HONK! bands as well as the Bread and Puppet Theater, the impromptu “community band,” and many local arts and
