Grateful Dead announce 2009 Tour Dates!
The legendary Grateful Dead are going on out the road once again! The 2009 road shows will feature Four Original Members (Phil Lesh, Bob Weir, Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann) along with the awesome Warren Haynes (guitars) and RatDog keyboardist Jeff Chimenti. For those who missed it, this is the identical lineup of the "New" Dead that played for an Obama benefit at Penn State last year.
For those not into jam band phenomena, the announcement of a Dead reunion and tour has the potential to be a yawn-fest. But this music blogger couldn't be more happy to have this opportunity to see the Dead again! I will be counting the days!
I totally respect this band's place in music history and hope many of you make it out to these shows. Tickets go on sale to the public in months - Presale for these shows in just ten more days..... Details on Dead.Net

Phil Lesh: "We've got some unfinished music"
While The Dead will bring its music to Wachovia Arena next week, the visual art of the band’s patriarch, the late Jerry Garcia, will be on display at the nearby Hilton Garden Inn Wednesday April 22 and Thursday April 23.
Billed as “one of the largest collections of Garcia’s work,” the exhibition, “Jerry Garcia: A Visual Journey,” is free to the public. It’s presented by Philadelphia-area Image Makers Art with Rock 107.
The exhibit includes watercolors, lithographs and silk-screen prints created between 1985 and 1995. All works will be for sale.
Before achieving stardom in the Grateful Dead, Garcia studied at the San Francisco Art Institute. Some of his works have been printed on Jerry Garcia neckties.
“Jerry Garcia: A Visual Journey,” Wed. April 22, 11 a.m.-9 p.m., Thurs. April 23, 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Hilton Garden Inn Wilkes-Barre (242 Highland Park Blvd., Wilkes-Barre Twp.). Info: www.imagemakersart.com
