WHY YOU NEED TO GO: Saturday marks the first visit back for the incredible Pela since singer Billy McCarthy sustained a serious hand injury while playing on stage earlier this year. The stage accident took place during a show at Schuba's in Chicago on Feb 29th - just two shows after Pela's stunner of a performance last appearance in Boston (Feb 26th) - (a show which they headlined coincidently with Boston's Static of the Gods.) The wounds didn't keep the band from getting back on that horse. This show is NOT to be missed.

Another Reason to Attend: Boston's own STATIC OF THE GODS. This is the city's current best export. Touring the Country and making new fans - this is one hell of a live experience. The band just released "Peluche" an EP album (the teaser for an upcoming full-length album) and a video. You need to hear this band play live: Static of the Gods is Jen Johnson, vocals and guitar, Mike Latulippe on drums, and Ben Voskeritchian on bass & guitar.

Static of the Gods is well-represented by Green Light Go - a fine, smallish publicity house with growing prominence today. Besides being personable and having great taste - Green Light Go has made some positive strides the last few years by adding top new talent to their ranks. Two of their acts will open for the Saturday show.
Frequent readers of this blog will remember Boston's odd, enigmatic band THE MOTION SICK as a real treat. The band will open on Saturday. Also appearing that night is Green Light Go solo act Shawn Fogel - who has formed an impressive backing band for this special night. Backing Fogel are Michael Azerrad and Guster keyboardist Josh Cohen. They join Dan Saks and Jeff Patlingrao in helping Fogel light up the Middle East!
